SEAT UK breaks True Fleet sales record in 2018

  • SEAT UK grows True Fleet sales to 18,826 in 2018
  • Represents year-on-year growth of 27%
  • SEAT UK is fastest growing car manufacturer in True Fleet for two consecutive years
  • Leon best-seller in SEAT range in 2018; SUV range also popular

Milton Keynes, 06/02/2019 – SEAT UK achieved its best ever True Fleet results in 2018, growing sales to 18,826 vehicles.

The surge in business sales represents year-on-year growth of more than a quarter (27%) compared to 2017 and means SEAT has been the fastest growing manufacturer in True Fleet for two consecutive years.

The outstanding success of the fourth generation Leon continues after again outselling rivals and proving to be SEAT’s most popular model in True Fleet with sales of 9,465.

With burgeoning sales spurred on by new models and a raft of initiatives like its popular four-day test drive scheme to make life easier for drivers and decision-makers, SEAT has placed consistently among the top-10 OEMs in fleet. The sales growth has been achieved despite difficult market conditions in which the sector shrunk by 8%.

SEAT’s expanding SUV range has also been a hit among business drivers, achieving sales of 6,071 across its mid-sized Ateca and compact Arona. The seven-seater Tarraco joins the exciting range for 2019, extending the brands coverage and sole-supplier capability.

In addition to winning several awards for its vehicles, SEAT was named Most Improved Manufacturer of the Year in 2018, in recognition of its industry-leading fleet programme.

Peter McDonald, Head of Fleet and Business Sales at SEAT UK, said: “Delivering a fleet programme which meets or exceeds the expectations of customers from SMEs to leasing companies and large corporate fleets is a big challenge. The results speak for themselves and we welcome the fact the industry values the relationship with our brand.

“We have a genuine desire to keep innovating to improve the fleet customer experience, introducing fresh products and initiatives which resonate with drivers and decision makers.”

Globally, SEAT sold a total of 517,600 vehicles, 10.5% more than in 2017 (468,400). This result is the largest sales volume in SEAT’s 68-year history and exceeds the record set in 2000 (514,800 cars). Since 2012, SEAT sales have grown by over 60%.
